Meet Mazanti-Andersen: Where Legal Expertise Meets Passion and People

Mazanti-Andersen is a highly specialized, market-oriented law firm and a trusted partner to many Danish and international businesses. The firm is recognized as one of the leading law firms on venture capital and fund formation in the Nordics.

The Mazanti Transactions team has expertise spanning across the entire corporate lifecycle - from startup to exit and beyond – and advises on pre-seed to late-stage venture capital and growth equity financings, formation and operation of funds, corporate governance matters, and strategic decision making. The team advises both international and domestic clients, among these venture funds, venture companies, business angels, and start-ups, which span a diversity of sectors with particular strength and focus in the tech and life science industries.

A Commitment to the Ecosystem

The team goes beyond traditional legal counsel and is deeply engaged in the ecosystem. Our specialists frequently engage with industry stakeholders, sharing valuable insights and expertise at conferences, educational programs, and professional networks. This commitment not only strengthens our connections, but also enriches our understanding of the dynamic landscape in which our clients operate. These engagements provide an opportunity to connect informally with peers and clients, fostering relationships and gaining perspective, both for our partners and younger employees. Our commitment to contribute actively to the ecosystem is further demonstrated through Mazanti Pulse (mazantipulse.com), which is an online resource delivering news, insights and free legal documents to players in the Danish venture capital and private equity industry with the purpose of supporting their success.

To give a glimpse of Mazanti and our most important asset, our people, here’s a short Q&A with Partner and attorney-at-law Frederik Hasling and attorney-at-law Ben Brodersen Chudner.

What motivates you to work at Mazanti-Andersen?

Ben: “For me, it’s the blend of challenging work and a culture that genuinely supports growth. I feel encouraged to push my limits, knowing I have a team and mentors who value my contributions. It’s motivating to work at a firm where you’re not just another lawyer; you’re part of a team striving for excellence together.”

Frederik: “What keeps me engaged is the balance between challenging, meaningful work and a culture that actively fosters growth at all levels. As a partner, I see the importance of pushing boundaries - not just for myself but for our entire team. Our culture is one where everyone’s contributions are valued, and we operate as a strong team, dedicated to delivering the highest standards together.”

Ben: “Beyond the office, there’s a continuous flow of opportunities away from our desks. One day, I might go from a client meeting on corporate governance to an evening gaining new ideas from a conversation at an industry event. These experiences keep our work fresh and insightful.”

Frederik: “It’s this combination - deep, focused client work alongside engagement with the broader ecosystem - that keeps my work dynamic and forward-looking.”

What sets Mazanti-Andersen apart from others in the industry?

Ben: “Mazanti has a very strong reputation for expertise in venture capital, but it’s our culture and open-door approach that set us apart. Partners here are incredibly accessible, willing to share knowledge and offer guidance.”

Frederik: “We work very closely with our clients and have a high level of partner-attention on all cases, which creates a unique learning space for our young lawyers, but it also ensures that our clients feel in safe hands as they entrust us with creating value for them and their business.”

”Our team operates with a great deal of trust and flexibility and everyone is encouraged to bring their own perspectives to the table. The culture here is ambitious but grounded, and there’s mutual respect. Many of us have been here for a long time, with several starting as legal trainees and rising all the way to partner—including myself.”

What is your approach to diversity & sustainability? How do you address those topics at your company?

Frederik: “Diversity and inclusion are integral to our daily operations. Recently, we had the opportunity to deepen our understanding through workshops led by Professor Sara Louise Muhr from Copenhagen Business School, where we explored the latest research in DE&I and practiced applying inclusive actions in everyday interactions. This was also a central theme during our recent company trip and remains an important focus.”

“While workshops and training are important, we believe that consistent everyday actions—like listening to diverse perspectives in meetings, being mindful of language, and supporting one another—truly make a difference. These efforts create a culture where everyone feels valued and respected, enhancing both our internal teamwork and the advice we provide to clients.”

A Final Word of Wisdom

Frederik: “Stay curious. No matter how experienced you are, there’s always something new to learn from the people around you and the work you do. And most importantly: Professional expertise will take you far as a lawyer, but it’s humanity and knowing the people behind the business you advise that carry you across the finish line.”
